AXA Partners launches AXA Go to bring travel insurance to over 1 billion WeChat users

AXA, through its AXA Partners business unit, is excited to announce that it will launch the first WeChat Mini Program to offer end-to-end travel insurance services for WeChat users. The Mini Program, known as “AXA Go”, is fully integrated into the WeChat Go ecosystem and offers travel insurance and one-stop shop extended services to Chinese travelers.

WeChat Go is an open collaboration model initiated by WeChat, the largest social communications platform in China, to facilitate global partners in addressing the specific needs of outbound Chinese travelers via the WeChat ecosystem. The resultant innovative WeChat solutions in hospitality, telecommunication, airlines, safety, insurance, attractions, city guides, and similar fields, are creating immense value for Chinese travelers.

AXA, a worldwide leader in insurance, emergency assistance, asset management and the first Global Insurance Brand for the 10th consecutive year*, will provide exclusive products and a unique travelers experience on WeChat. Through the “AXA Go” Mini Program, WeChat users will be the first to receive access to a fully digital, fully connected and fully mobile comprehensive travel insurance solution at home and abroad. The products offered through the “AXA Go” Mini Program will be one of the most extensive proposed on the Chinese market, including coverage for most visa requirements for Chinese traveling abroad and for main outdoor activities.

Developed by the AXA Partners teams, the “AXA Go” Mini Program will provide Chinese tourists with an optimized customer journey and focus on the following areas to deliver values:

 

Before Travel:

•       Plan on WeChat and buy (with WeChat Pay) the most convenient travel insurance and assistance products and services according to your destination,

•       Keep and centralize on WeChat all policy information and access it at any time (insurance coverage, emergency contact telephone numbers etc.).

 

During Travel:

•       One click, 24/7, global emergency access to AXA Assistance (hospital admission, repatriation etc.), on WeChat,

•       Access to AXA Customer service in WeChat to benefit from useful safety and security information about your destination (natural disaster, riot, war, etc.).

 

After Travel:

•       Paperless, end-to-end online claims (no hardcopy required) for 98% of claims submission with settlement in WeChat Pay wallet,

•       Follow-up service including welcome back gift and automated earnings in the “AXA Go” membership program.

 

To further enhance the customer experience, the “AXA Go” mini-program will also provide users with exclusive and unique access to the “AXA Go” membership program. The “AXA Go” membership program will enable users to collect points, redeem promotions or vouchers for insurance products and to receive privileged services such as lounge access at over 90 airports in mainland China.
